Joel B Schweiger
Head Coach
Email
Joel
began swimming during his sophomore year when a girlfriend dared
him to try out for high school swim team. He made the team,
and was hooked. He pursued club swimming when he realized that
high school training wasn’t adequate for where he wanted to
be. He has swum at the high school, club, collegiate and
Masters levels, then went on to duplicate that with his coaching
career.
He
coached the Moreno Valley Aquatic club, then Riverside Aquatics
(RAA), one of the more established clubs in the Orange section of
the Southern California Swimming LSC. While there, Joel
worked closely with area high school coaches to produce quality
swimmers, believing that he and the HS coach both sought the same
goal.
Joel
plans to have a strong team of swimmers at every level, and will
rely on his coaching staff to produce quality
swimmers. He has strong expectations, but recognizes that
there are different coaching techniques that could be employed to
relate to each swimmer.
Joel wants all of
the swimmers to know him and to see him on deck several times a
week. He prefers to evaluate each swimmer’s performance
with the other coaches during swim meets, and believes that
swimmers should be honored when they make the higher
cuts.

Ken Rice is a life-long swimmer and aquatic sports
enthusiast. Beginning as an 8 & under swimmer and
continuing with Water Polo, Surfing and Sailing; Ken believes in
the positive benefits swimming can offer athletes and families such
as goal setting, skill development, teamwork, fun and the
opportunity to connect to the excitement of an Olympic sport.
USA Swimming creates an environment for our team to compete both
locally and on the national level. Along with the sanctioned
events, USA Swimming also provides a wealth of resource for stroke
development and the technical side of racing performance. Ken
utilizes these resources on a daily basis, personalizing stroke
instruction and motivating athletes to aim for additional
opportunities within Pacific Northwest Swimming.
Ken has coached all levels of swimming to include: novice
children and adults, proficient swimmers with new skill
development, and elite level athletes with technical refinements
and specific training goals.
